2014/15 Stats of the season

Here’s a look at the stats from all 24 teams this season.

Accrington Stanley

Standing 17th in the league Accrington have not been part of many low scoring games this season with 27 of them consisting of 3 or more goals with 15 of them having 4 or more goals scored having only kept a clean sheet 5 times all season long. The most popular score line in games involving Accrington is 1-0 10 of their matches this season have finished like this. Winning 41% of their home games this season drawing 27% and losing 32% they have picked up 33 of their 53 points at home.  They have scored 31 goals at home, conceding exactly the same whilst away scoring 25 goals and conceding 45. If games finished at half time then Accrington would have a total of 53 points the exact total they have after 45 games of 90 minutes. Their top scorer is Mingoia with 8, 4 home goals and 4 away goals. Stanley currently stand 4 points worse off than they finished last season.

AFC Wimbledon

Currently stood in 15th place AFC like Accrington haven’t seen to many low scoring games this season with half of their games finishing with more than 3 goals a game with 13 of them with 4 goals or more having kept 14 clean sheets over 45 games. Wimbledon have been involved in 8 games ending 1-0 and 7 games ending 0-0. Winning 45% of their home games, drawing 32% and losing 23% their away form is pretty dismal only winning 17% and losing 48% of away games. Their away wins coming at Luton, Portsmouth, York and Southend. For Wimbledon if games finished at half time their points tally would be 71 and would occupy the last playoff place. They currently stand 4 points better off than they finished last season. Akinfenwa is their leading goal scorer with 13 goals, 10 at home 3 away.

 

 

 

Burton Albion

Stood 1st in the table Burton are having a great season, only 1 win away from the league title having already secured promotion to league one. How impressive have they really been along the way? Having won 27 of their 45 games this season Burton have only scored more than 1 goal on 18 occasions and more than 2 goals on only 8, no surprise there then when the most popular score line involving Burton is 1-0, 1-1 being the second most popular. Having won 70% of their home games and 50% of their away games Burton have picked up 52 points at home and the other 39 away. Burton have kept 17 clean sheets. They seem have ground out results instead of won in style but that’s the mark of champions sometimes. For Burton their season would look rather different if their games finished after 45 minutes they would only have 75 points and would sit in 6th place. They have scored 34 at home and 32 away having conceded 13 at home and 24 away. Their longest run without defeat is 11 games. Burton sit 19 points better of than they finished last season.

Bury

At the beginning of the season Bury looked favourites for the league, playing some good football along the way, a dip in form saw them drop off the pace and they look like they may now have to settle for the playoffs in place of Southend. Bury having won 25 of their 45 games bury like many others have been involved in more 1-0 wins than any other result this season, a 2-0 score line being the second most popular. They have kept 19 clean sheets all season which is pretty impressive. Their points have been as follows, 45 points at home and 37 away having scored 33 goals at home and 26 away, conceding 20 at home and 20 away which gives them a 56% overall win rate this season. They would have 70 points if their games finished on the 45 minute mark. Daniel nardiello is their top scorer with 12 goals.They sit 23 points better off than last season.

Cambridge United

After Promotion back to the football league im sure Cambridge fans will be happy with their first season back even if it didn’t end how it started. Cambridge have won just 13 of their 45 games, Drawing 12 and losing 20. The most popular score line is 2-1, they have been involved in 10 games resulting 2-1. They have kept 10 clean sheets this season and have conceded 63 goals, 30 at home 33 away and scoring a total of 59, 32 at home 27 away. They have failed to score on 13 occasions. Their heaviest loss was a 2-6 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth. Cambridge’s top scorer this season is Simpson with 7 goals, 5 at home 2 away. They would be sat on 53 points if their games finished at half time.

Carlisle United

Having come down from league 1 last season no one expected Carlisle to struggle as much as they have an opening day 1-0 defeat to Luton made it look like a good result for the hatters but not anymore. Carlisle have won only 14 of their 45 games, losing 24 times and drawing 7. They have conceded 71 goals and managed to hit the back of the net on 53 occasions. Their most popular score line is 1-0 this being the result in 11 of their games, 2-1 being the second most popular result involving them. Their heaviest defeat was away at Cambridge united, that ended 5-0.  Having 7 clean sheets this season they have only won 31% of their 45 games and For Carlisle if their games finished at 45 minutes they would have only 39 points and be joint bottom of the league.

Cheltenham Town

With only 20% win rate (9 games) Cheltenham have been relegated from the football league with only 39 points to their name. They have lost 23, drawn 13 and lost 9 of their 45 games this season, conceding 66 goals and only scoring 39, 22 goals at home and 17 away. Cheltenham’s biggest win of the season was a 2-0 win over Tranmere. The most popular score line involving Cheltenham is 1-1 and 1-0 (10 games each). Their heaviest defeat of the season came against Stevenage away. With only 4 clean sheets to their names this season it’s no wonder they are where they are. Cheltenham are now 15 points worse off than last season and again for them they would have 46 points if games stopped at half time.

Dagenham and Redbridge

The Daggers sit firmly in mid table (13th place) and have had a decent season in all respects, they done the double over Bury and beat Plymouth and Stevenage along the way also. With a win rate of 38% they have won 17 games, drawn 8 and lost 20. They have conceded 57 and also scored 57, their longest winning streak was 2 games and their longest unbeaten run being 3 games. They have kept 15 clean sheets this season all together. Their 2 biggest wins were against Accrington and Wimbledon (4-0). They currently sit only 1 point worse off than last season and for them they would have 62 points and sit in 10th place if their matches finished at half time.

Exeter City

Exeter currently sit in 11th place on 61 points and have a 36% overall win ratio, winning 16, drawing 13 and losing 16 of their 45 games conceding 64 goals and scoring 59. They have a better goal average away from home with 31 scored away and 28 at home. 2-1 is the most popular score line involving Exeter they have played 12 games ending 2-1. They have only kept 6 clean sheets all season. They sit 6 points better off this season than last and also would have 57 points if they finished games half way through.

Hartlepool United

After a terrible first half and mostly second half of the season Hartlepool looked certain to go down, their late revival saw them beat the drop to non league. With an overall win ratio of 27% (11 games) and a lose ratio of 56% (25 games) they have done considerably well to stay up. They have conceded 67 Goals and only managed to score 36 all season with 8 clean sheets to. Their defeats weren’t a battering, 12 1-0 defeats out of 25 losses probably tells a little more of the truth than the lose ratio. They currently sit 22nd and are safe from relegation. Hartlepool are only 9 points worse off than last season and would sit in exactly the same spot with the same points if their games finished at half time.

Luton Town

This is Luton’s first season back in league football in 5 years and they made a great start until a run of 10 games without a win all but ended their hopes of double promotion. They currently sit 8th just outside the playoffs. Luton have an overall win ratio of 40% winning 18 games, drawing 11 and losing 16. Their most popular score line being 1-0 having played in 16 games ending this way. Their biggest win were against Mansfield, Newport and Hartlepool (3-0) and heaviest defeat came against Morecambe, also a 3-0. Luton have scored 52 goals this season, 35 at home and 17 away and also conceded 44, 19 at home 25 away. Luton have kept 17 clean sheets. If their games finished on 45 minutes Luton would sit in exactly the same place as they do now with 65 points.

Mansfield Town

Mansfield currently sit in 21st place on 48 points. They have an overall win ratio of 29% (13 games) drawing 9, losing 23 times and only winning 3 times away all season. They have conceded 60 goals only scoring 37 all season. Their biggest defeat of the season was a 4-1 away loss at York City. The most popular score line involving Mansfield is 1-0 ( 13 times) and 2-1 (12 times). They have managed to keep a clean sheet on 11 occasions. Mansfield would be on 44 points if their games finished at half time and would sit only a place below their current standing. They are 12 points worse off than the end of last season

Morecambe

Morecambe currently sit 12th in league 2 with a win ratio of 36% (16 games) drawing 27% (12 games) and losing 38% (17 games) of their 45 games. They have had some notable wins this season, a 2-0 away win at Burton being a highlight. They have 10 of their 19 games against teams currently in the top 10 doing the double over Bury, Newport and Luton. The most popular score line for Morecambe is 1-1, games resulting in this outcome is 9. The second most popular being 2-1 on 8 occasions. They have kept a clean sheet on 12 occasions, 6 times at home and 6 away. Morecambe stand 6 points better off than last season and would sit on 55 points if their games finished on 45 minutes.

Newport County

Newport sit 9th with 65 points with a 40% win ratio (18 games) drawing 24% (11 games) and losing 36% (16 games). They have scored 51 goals, 30 away and 21 at home. Conceding 53, 24 at home and 29 away. Newport’s biggest win of the season was a 4-1 home win against AFC Wimbledon, their heaviest defeat was a 4-0 defeat at Cambridge. Their longest winning streak being 4 games and longest losing streak also 4 games. The most popular score line for Newport was 1-0, 11 games finished this way, and 2-0 the second most popular (9 times) They have kept 14 clean sheets this season. Newport sit 7 points better off than last season where they finished on 58 points. They would be on 54 points if games finished on 45 minutes.

Northampton Town

Northampton are currently 10th in league 2 with 61 points, their win ratio is 40% (18 games), drawing 16% (7 games) and losing 44% (18 games). They have scored 65 goals, 37 at home 28 away and conceding 59, 24 at home 35 away. Their biggest victory of the season came against Accrington and Hartlepool, a 5-1 victory. The heaviest loss was a 5-4 loss at Accrington. 8 games finished 1-0, more than any other score line this season. They have kept 13 clean sheets. Currently they sit 8 points better off than last season when they finished their campaign with 53 points. For Northampton they would be on 66 points if their games stopped at half time.

Oxford United

Oxford have had an average season and sit 14th with 58 points. United have a win ratio of 31% (14 games) drawing 36% (16 games) and losing 33% (15 games). They have scored 49 goals 27 at home and 22 away, conceding 49 goals also, 24 at home and 25 away. 1-0 and 1-1 is what most of their games finished as, 7 times each. They have kept 15 clean sheets. Their biggest win of the season came at home to Mansfield and away to Tranmere, both games finished 3-0. Their heaviest defeat was 5-1 at local rivals Cambridge. Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth occupy the last playoff place with 68 points with a win ratio of 42% (19 games) drawing 24% (11 games) and losing 33% (15 games) They have scored 53, 34 at home and 19 away. They have conceded 37 goals 14 at home 23 away. Plymouth have kept 20 clean sheets this season and the most popular score line involving them is 1-0, 11 games finishing this way. Their biggest win of the season was 3-0, they achieved this in 5 games in total. The heaviest loss was 2-0, 4 games finished this way. Portsmouth

Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury sit in 2nd place in the table with 89 points and a chance of winning the league 2 title this weekend if Burton slip up. They have a win ratio of 60% (27 games) drawing 18% (8 games) and losing just 22% (10 games). They have scored 67 goals, 43 at home and 24 away. The Shrews have only conceded 29 goals all season, only 9 at home and 20 away. They went 16 games unbeaten at home, this run came to an end against Northampton and they are the only team to have won at Shrewsbury this season. Having kept 23 clean sheets this season they surely deserve the title a little more than Burton. They have had fourteen 1-0 wins and eight 2-0 wins this season. After a 45 minute game would have 67 points, a massive 22 points have been won in the second half of games this season.

Southend United

Southend currently sit 3rd on 84 points with a win ratio of 53% (24 games) drawing 27% (12 games) and losing 20% (9 games. They have scored 53 goals, 25 at home and 28 away having conceded 35 goals in total, 9 at home and 26 away. Southend have kept 23 clean sheets this season, equal with Shrewsbury. Their biggest win of the season was 3-1 away win at Dagenham and their heaviest defeat was a 4-1 loss at Wycombe in December. Their most popular sore line was 1-0, games finished 14 times to this result and second most popular being 2-0, 9 games finishing this way. Currently they are 12 points better off than their total last year. Their total for this year so far (84 points) won Chesterfield the league title last year. They would have 66 points if second halves were not played.

Stevenage

Stevenage sit in 6th place in league 2 with 72 points and a win Ratio of 44% (20 games) drawing 27% (12 games) and losing 29% (13 games). They have scored a total of 62 goals this term conceding 52 along the way. 37 of their goals came at home and 25 away. They have kept 15 clean sheets this season, Conceding 23 goals at home and 29 away. They were involved in eleven 1-0 score lines this season. Their biggest win came at home to Cheltenham which ended 5-1, their heaviest defeat was 3-0 away to Carlisle United. Having been relegated from league 1 last season they are looking to bounce straight back and have secured a playoff place. They would have 55 points if it wasn’t for the second half and would sit 16th.

Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere’s stay in the football league has ended at the weekend, with a win ratio of just 20% (9 games) all season its not really a surprise. They have drawn 27% of their games (12 games) and lost over half (53% -24 games) having scored 45 goals this season and letting in 66. They finish the season Having only managed to score more than 1 goal 15 times, winning 7 of which they did so in.  2-1 was the most popular score line (9 times) and 1-0 being the second highest score line (8 times) Tranmere have kept only 7 clean sheets this season. They would have 49 points if games finished at half time.

Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe have slipped down to 5th place in the table after spending much of the season in the top 3. With 81 points they have a win ratio of 49% (22 games) drawing 33% (15 games) and losing 18% (8 games). They have scored 64, 30 at home and 34 away, conceding 43. Keeping 15 clean sheets this season Wycombe have only conceded 25 goals at home. In contrast to last season where they escaped relegation by 3 goals they have a massive 31 points more than they finished with last year. Great turn around. Wycombe would have 64 points if games finished at half time. That’s 17 points they have won in the second half of games this season.

York City

York sit 19th with 51 points and a win ratio of 24% (11 games) drawing 40% (18 games) and losing 36% (16 games) they have scored 45 goals this season scoring 16 at home and 29 away goals. City kept 14 clean sheets this season conceding 50 goals, 21 at home and 29 away. They have been involved in ten 1-0 score lines and seven 1-1 draws, the 2 most popular score lines for them this season. Last season they finished with 71 points, 20 more than they have this season. If their matches finished at half time they would have 50 points meaning only 1 point has been won in the second half of their games.
